MinnWest Technology Campus in the News
The long awaited transfer of ownership of the former Willmar Regional Treatment Center to MinnWest Technology Campus Management Company, LLC is final. This complicated real estate transaction has been in the works for several months with involvement from many interested parties. Parties involved include the State of Minnesota, Kandiyohi County, MinnWest, City of Willmar, Willmar Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, Kandiyohi County and City of Willmar Economic Development Commission, and the Housing and Redevelopment Authority.
This deal is an excellent example of a positive private and public partnership that will bring future dividends to the City of Willmar and the businesses located there. The Willmar Regional Treatment Center has been a historical monument in the community for many years. MinnWest Technology Campus will now create a new history and a new future for the facility.
Renovations will begin immediately on buildings for Nova-Tech Engineering, Epitopix, Life Science Innovations, and Midwest Data. These four technology businesses will be the first to move onto the campus. An estimated $1 million dollars will be invested in each building they will occupy.
